About
i fell in love with photographing beauty in the mundane in 2009 in london and paris, where my prof noted seeing me photographing a discarded table in the seine while surrounded by landmarks.
in 2012, i bought my first dslr, though most of what i learned came from studying light and contrast in ordinary moments from my phone. for years i focused mainly on nature, skies, and animals, but in 2025 i turned my lens on people, events, and late-night streets in search of something more cinematic.
by 2026, i was fully committed to the street and fine art photography you see here in my store. my work explores visual harmony between people and their environment through minimal, high-contrast imagery. the same, but different.
my brand is named for my 11yo gsd-mix, joy. “still joy” refers to her still bringing me joy, but also in a photography sense it can refer to a “still” that brings you joy. in a more spiritual sense, it can refer to a “still joy,” or a joy that is quiet in its stillness. and that’s the sentiment i want to portray with my art.
